Collection: Applique Work or Cut Work
Applique a term that originated from Latin word applico which means I apply and a French word Applique which means attach.
Applique work is a needlework which different sizes and designs of fabric are attached together with the help of sewing generally making it look like a design using hand stitch or machines. This art is carried on dress material, dupattas, sarees, quilts, bedsheets, pillows and curtains etc. And it has been widely done across the culture of America and Africa and in India. Our masterpieces of Applique work are from a small desert town Barmer which is in the state of Rajasthan, India and is done by a group of village women who are socioeconomically not strong and are making a living through this work.
